Significance, Otherness

For fans of contemporary folk, Burs’ sophomore album Significance, Otherness rewards a close listen. Released through Birthday Cake Records, the album puts the Toronto quartet’s musicianship front and centre. The record moves between delicate folk arrangements, indie rock, and moments of distortion, maintaining a warmth that keeps it cohesive. Across the album, three members of Burs take turns writing songs, giving each track its own perspective on love, loss, and community.

For the vinyl release, Significance, Otherness was pressed on Jade (EM3) Eco Mix, a 100% recycled vinyl compound that creates shifting shades of green and one-of-a-kind patterns across each record. The natural variation of the Eco Mix gives every copy its own character, pairing nicely with the album’s textured artwork by Paige Paton.
