Volume I

The masked Saguenay duo’s propulsive microtonal rock first blew us away when their now-legendary Live on KEXP performance went viral. The session has since racked up more than 19 million views on YouTube, helping propel Angine de Poitrine from a cult Quebec curiosity to an international draw, selling out shows and sharing stages with major headliners.

Volume I is the six-track debut that introduced the strange musical universe of Khn and Klek de Poitrine. Released in 2024, the six-track debut twists microtonal guitar riffs around looping motifs and relentless percussion, drawing on math rock, psychedelia, and prog while staying locked into a hypnotic groove. It’s the sound that sent millions of listeners down the Angine de Poitrine rabbit hole and has kept our pressing machines busy ever since.

For the physical release of Volume I, Precision Record Pressing produced both the vinyl and CD editions. The LP was pressed on classic Black (BK) vinyl and housed in a full-colour jacket with a printed insert, while the CD edition came in a jewel case with a 16-page 4/4 booklet and tray card. But even without a name, image or single word printed on the record or CD, there is no mistaking it for anyone else. The sound is unmistakably Angine de Poitrine.
