Black vinyl might be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a 7-inch record, but the format has evolved to offer far more creative possibilities.
At Precision Record Pressing, there are hundreds of color options for 7" vinyl. Each offers a different way to approach the look of your record, whether you're working with a specific color palette or creating something that reflects the character of the music. Even in a smaller format, there's room to make thoughtful design choices that feel personal to your release.
An Overview Of 7-Inch Vinyl
7" records are typically used for singles and limited-edition releases. Most 7" records are cut at 45 RPM, with PRP recommending approximately 4–6 minutes of audio per side.
Another important consideration for 7" records is the center-hole size, which is available in small and large configurations. A small center hole fits directly onto a standard turntable spindle and leaves more printable surface area on the center label. A large center hole requires a 45 RPM adapter for playback on most turntables and reduces the space available for artwork and text.
